Elevator Bolts

Elevator bolts have a large, thin, countersunk flat head and a square neck that locks against rotation. The wide flush head spreads load and sits flat against belts and buckets, making them the standard for conveyor systems, bucket elevators, and material-handling equipment. Why Elevator Bolts

On conveyor belts and elevator buckets, a protruding bolt head would catch material or wear. The elevator bolt's large, flat, thin head sits nearly flush and spreads clamp load over the soft belt or bucket material without pulling through, while the square neck keeps the bolt from spinning so it tightens from the nut side. This combination is purpose-built for material handling.

How the Square Neck Works

Below the flat head, a square section embeds into the belt or a square hole in the bucket, locking the bolt against rotation. This lets the assembler tighten the nut on the back side without holding the head — essential inside enclosed conveyor housings.

Materials and Finishes

Steel with zinc plating: the economical standard for general material handling. 18-8 / 316 stainless: corrosion resistance for food processing, agriculture, and wet environments where conveyors are washed down. Choose stainless for sanitary and corrosive settings.

Selecting the Right Elevator Bolt

Match the thread to your nut and the length to the belt/bucket plus backing thickness. Ensure the square neck fully seats for the anti-rotation feature. Choose stainless for washdown, food, and corrosive environments. The flat head must sit flush against the belt to avoid snagging material.
