Hot Dip Galvanized (HDG) fasteners are dipped in molten zinc, creating a thick (typically 2-4 mil) protective coating that provides excellent outdoor corrosion resistance — 20-50+ years of service life in moderate environments. Ideal for outdoor construction, agricultural equipment, and infrastructure. Note: A490 bolts should NOT be hot-dip galvanized due to hydrogen embrittlement risk.
