Blind Rivets (Closed End)

90 products

Closed-end blind rivets have a sealed, cup-shaped body that resists moisture intrusion and fully captures the mandrel inside the rivet — no loose mandrel to rattle or fall out. They suit applications needing a degree of water resistance or where a trapped mandrel could cause problems, like electronics and fluid-adjacent assemblies. We stock closed-end rivets in aluminum and stainless.

How Closed-End Rivets Work

Unlike open rivets, the closed-end body is sealed at the blind side. When set, the mandrel head is enclosed within the cup rather than left open, and the broken mandrel stem is retained inside. This seals the hole against splash and moisture and prevents the mandrel from becoming loose debris — important in enclosures, electronics, and vibration-prone equipment.

Water Resistance Note

Closed-end rivets resist moisture and splash but are not pressure-rated seals on their own — for a watertight joint, combine with sealant or a gasket. Their value is keeping casual moisture and contaminants out of the joint and cavity, and capturing the mandrel.

Materials

Aluminum: lightweight and corrosion-resistant, the common choice. Stainless: maximum corrosion resistance and strength for marine and outdoor use. Match the rivet to the parts to avoid galvanic corrosion.

Selecting the Right Closed-End Rivet

Match grip range to material thickness and body diameter to the drilled hole. Choose closed-end where moisture resistance or mandrel capture matters — for non-sealed structural joints, open rivets are more economical. Add sealant for true watertight needs. Select aluminum for general use, stainless for corrosion.

Use the filters to narrow by diameter, grip range, and material.
