Wrenches

Wrenches turn hex bolts and nuts by their flats, available in open-end, box-end, and combination styles across SAE and metric sizes. The right wrench type and a precise size fit prevent rounding fasteners and slipping. We stock wrenches in durable chrome-vanadium steel, individually and in sets.
Wrench Types
Combination: open end on one side, box end on the other in the same size — the versatile everyday choice. Open-end: two open jaws for speed and access where a box won't fit. Box-end: a closed 6- or 12-point ring that grips all six flats, applying more torque without rounding. Use the box end to break fasteners loose, the open end for speed.
6-Point vs. 12-Point
6-point box ends grip the flats with maximum contact — best for high torque and rounded or stubborn fasteners. 12-point offer twice the engagement angles for working in tight swing spaces, at slightly less grip. Choose 6-point for power, 12-point for access.
SAE vs. Metric
Wrench sizes are the distance across the hex flats and come in SAE (inch) and metric — not interchangeable. A close-but-wrong size rounds the fastener. Stock both if you service mixed hardware, and match the wrench to the bolt's measurement system.
Selecting the Right Wrench
Match the size exactly to the fastener flats (SAE or metric). Choose combination wrenches for general use, box-end 6-point for high torque, open-end for tight access. Use chrome-vanadium for durability. Pull rather than push for safety, and replace any wrench with worn jaws that slip.
Use the filters to narrow by size, type, and measurement system. Orders before 12 PM ET ship same day.
